PAgrows seeks to offer technical assistance not only to borrowers looking for money, but also the lenders looking to find a place in the agriculture lending market.  Few banks in Pennsylvania have extensive agriculture portfolios, the majority of banks have little to no history in agriculture lending.

 

Pennsylvania Agriculture is the largest business sector in the state.  With an economic impact of over $44 billion and a global reach, the agriculture industry in Pennsylvania is a large market for lenders looking to expand their portfolios.

 

Many of the state and federal programs require a private lender to provide a percentage of the total loan.  It is hoped that these programs will allow private lenders to fund more loans or to provide funding for loans in instances where 100% private financing would not be feasible.

 

PAgrows currently provides assistance to borrowers, lenders and service providers on gaining access to low interest loans, grants and loan guarantee programs that are available on the state and federal level.
